A Bullying Prevention Policy should be developed collaboratively with staff, students, parents or care givers and the wider school community. The remaining projects were funded under the Crime Prevention Investment Fund (CPIF), the Crime Prevention Partnership Program (CPPP), and the Business Action Program (BAP). According to Dr. Lu, more can be done to prevent bullying, but it requires new and continued collaboration with state and federal organizations, public and private groups, educators and researchers, healthcare workers, social workers, teachers and parents, policymakers, and especially youth leadership.

They range from projects implemented at the national level, designed to produce tools and resources that can be applied across the country, to projects that delivered an intervention in one school. The Grade 5 curriculum introduced by this project is now offered in approximately 30 schools in the district.

The North Central Corridor Initiative in Calgary involved a large number of community agencies to: address the integration of services for these students; provide consultations with teachers on how to work with students with behavioural and psychiatric disorders; provide social skills training and recreational activities for the children; and support for their parents.

Here at Kickboard we have seen schools transformed by implementing an effective bully prevention program. Several Midwest schools, including Tulsa Public Schools, are taking proactive action to empower their students, personnel, parents and others to report incidents (anonymously or not).

‚ÄčThere is no single universal anti-bullying approach. In addition to the sessions provided for students, workshops were held for parents and other interested parties for the purpose of identifying and meeting the needs of at-risk Aboriginal youth. By finding strategies for dealing with their stress, getting therapy, and making strides to maintain a positive self-image, bullying victims can counteract some of the negative effects.

Inclusion of students in developing the policy can help foster a feeling of belonging and antibullying nonprofit school pride. Schools should have multiple avenues for reporting bullying that don't stigmatise children, and a central recording system for incidents (particularly important as evidence).
